Why do we do what we do ? we all have things that we do everyday in order to survive. No one tells us to do some of this things, we just do them. That got me thinking "why do i do what i do ?" the answer lies in what we call Reason . Why am i writing this blog ? why are you reading this blog ? if you think about those questions you would start to come up with reasons. We sometimes skip that very important motivational aspect of thinking, if the answer to that question brings forth motivation, then why don't we ask ourselves that question before making certain decisions. We tend to just autopilot it, and do things for wrong reasons like "its trendy", "my friends are doing it",this are not strong enough to fuel you through your journey. When your answer to that question is not strongly goal oriented your motivation goes down drastically. What i'm saying is that, the reason for doing things is strongly connected to performance, for example, if i wake up and run every morning because i was told to, I'd hate it, and, i'd not be driven, but, if i wake up and ran every morning to lose weight my performance will be so much better, because the focus is on that thought which leads to sub thoughts. (internal dialogue- i am running this morning for the purpose of weight lose ,---- so i would be healthy (sub-thought ),--- so i can run a marathon with my friends (sub-thought 2),--- so i can compete at some point in a fitness competition) i call it sub-thoughts (i bet there is an actual name for it). When that first thought isn't strong or positive it decreases your motivation or even worse, it makes you lose it completely. There is more to reason than just thinking about it, you have to believe it. If my reason is at the back of my mind and i don't believe it with everything in me, my performance would be poor. What is it that you are trying to accomplish ? what is your reason for it ? write those reasons down and fixate on it before going at your goals, you would feel more driven and ready to take on the world.
